First Impressions: Thoughtful Design Meets Coffee Shop Chic

Straight out of the box, the Luxe Café is a stunner. It’s all brushed stainless steel with a compact footprint, but it’s the control panel that immediately catches your eye. Instead of a cluttered mess of buttons, Ninja opted for a more intuitive, clearly labeled layout. You’re looking at 3 brewing modes—espresso, cold brew, and drip coffee—with options for customizing size, strength, and temperature.

The machine comes with everything you need to start brewing right away:

  • Portafilter
  • Milk Jug
  • Double Basket & Luxe Basket for espresso
  • Assisted Tamper
  • Cleaning Brush & Disc
  • Funnel & Descaling Powder
  • Cleaning Tablets & Hard Water Testing Kit

Ninja even throws in an Inspiration Guide with some basic recipes and brewing tips. If you’re a total beginner, you’re covered.

3 Machines in 1: No More Guesswork, Just Great Coffee

At its core, the Ninja Luxe Café Coffee Machine is designed to replace multiple coffee gadgets with one device. You can choose from:

  • Espresso: Two espresso styles—double shot or quad shot—delivered through a 15-bar pressure pump that extracts rich, crema-topped shots.
  • Drip Coffee: Six brew sizes ranging from 6 oz to 18 oz, with three styles: classic, rich, and over ice.
  • Cold Brew: Two cold brew options—cold-pressed espresso or classic cold brew—brewed at lower temperatures and pressure for a smooth, less acidic result.

During testing, the espresso feature was a standout. The shots came out hot and bold with a nice layer of crema, and the Assisted Tamper made it easy to get a perfectly compact puck without the guesswork. The cold brew mode was equally impressive, producing a smooth, rich concentrate in minutes instead of hours.

Barista Assist Technology

If you’ve ever been intimidated by espresso machines, the Luxe Café’s Barista Assist Technology is a lifesaver. It walks you through the brewing process with customized grind size recommendations, weight-based dosing, and active adjustments for temperature and pressure.

For instance, when you switch to cold brew mode, the machine automatically adjusts the brewing temperature and pressure to extract a more flavorful, less acidic espresso concentrate. When making drip coffee, you can choose from three temperature settings (low, medium, and high) to better suit the roast of your beans.

And the best part? You don’t have to be a coffee expert to get great results. The machine handles most of the heavy lifting for you.

Integrated Grinder: Fresh Grounds, Every Time

Grinding your beans fresh before brewing is one of the simplest ways to level up your coffee game, and the Luxe Café doesn’t skimp in this department. It features a conical burr grinder with 25 grind settings, so you can fine-tune your grind size for espresso, drip coffee, or cold brew.

What really impressed me was the weight-based dosing system. Instead of grinding based on time (which can lead to inconsistent results), the Luxe Café measures the exact amount of grounds needed for each drink style. That means your espresso shots are consistent, your drip coffee isn’t weak, and your cold brew doesn’t taste like you brewed it with dishwater.

Hands-Free Frothing: Lattes Made Easy

This is where the Luxe Café truly shines. The Dual Froth System takes the guesswork out of milk frothing with four preset programs: steamed milk, thin froth, thick froth, and cold foam.

I tried it with whole milk, oat milk, and almond milk, and all three produced velvety microfoam without splattering milk everywhere. The frother combines steaming and whisking simultaneously, so you get that perfect latte texture without the trial-and-error.

The frother also detaches for easy cleaning—just rinse it under running water or toss it in the dishwasher.

Built-In Storage: Thoughtful and Functional

One underrated feature? The built-in storage compartment. It’s not a massive drawer, but it’s big enough to stow the tamper, funnel, cleaning brush, and brew baskets. It’s a small but appreciated touch that keeps everything organized and easily accessible.

Temperature Control: Not Just a Gimmick

Most coffee makers only offer one or two temperature settings, but the Luxe Café gives you three:

  • Low-medium for dark roasts to prevent bitterness
  • Medium-high for light roasts to bring out floral notes
  • Cold brew temp for those ultra-smooth, less acidic brews

During testing, I noticed a distinct difference between the medium and high settings when brewing lighter roasts. The higher temp extracted more flavor without the bitterness that can sometimes come with hotter water.

Is It Worth It? My Final Verdict

The Ninja Luxe Café Coffee Machine is more than just a pretty countertop appliance. It’s a full-service coffee bar that takes the guesswork out of brewing espresso, cold brew, and drip coffee—all while maintaining a surprisingly compact footprint.

The Barista Assist Technology is a game changer for beginners, the integrated grinder ensures fresh grounds every time, and the Dual Froth System makes café-style lattes practically foolproof.

That said, it’s not a machine for the casual coffee drinker who just wants a quick cup of drip coffee. If that’s you, a basic single-serve coffee maker will do the job just fine.

But if you’re someone who craves variety—espresso shots in the morning, iced lattes in the afternoon, and a cozy drip coffee before bed—the Luxe Café is a solid investment that lives up to its all-in-one promise.

Promising review: “I worked for Starbucks for five years so I have an understanding of the art of coffee making. Although Starbucks, espresso machines are a bit different than these, It’s just as easy to use if not better! The quality of the espresso is a lot better than any Coffee shop I’ve been to. It is a little bit time-consuming but i’m at home so not a huge deal. I’ve taken the time to use this machine over and over again just to break it in. I wanted to test the machine to its max to see what it’s capable of. It did not disappoint!!!” –

“Let me tell you this little machine is great. I thought it would take a lot to learn to use but it was so simple. The coffee taste nice and fresh daily. I love making the cold foam. The design is stylish and doesn’t take up a lot of room. Seems very well built and good quality. Now you do get a little coffee ground from compacting and moving over but nothing major just a quick wipe and they’re gone. Highly recommend.” – Csimon

This is a must have for a coffee drinker it does the job for you all the way around. It’s expensive but it’s worth e every penny.” – Nathaniel_85

Worth every penny!! This is by far the best machine you can get for your money. If you are not a professional in making coffee and you get your daily fix at starbucks, do yourself a favor and invest in this instead. So easy to use and the results are amazing. I recreate Starbucks drinks on the daily and the only investment you make is the initial Ninja luxe, syrups and good coffee. If you break down your numbers you will see it makes so much more sense. I promise you, you will get a pro in no time.
Cleaning is easy too, just a few parts to take care of. You get a booklet that explains step by step all the set up and has awesome recipes too.
Cold brew option is pretty good, not original cold brew good but for recreation of iced coffee drinks it tastes great and you wouldn’t be able to taste the difference.
If you are new to brewing your own espresso, the Ninja takes out all the guesswork and weighting and pressure and temping etc out of the equation. It automatically adjust the grind suggestion based in the coffee you choose, beans, weights the amount of grinded beans and pulls an excellent shot every time. I thought I had good coffee before but tasting it now proved me wrong. Use coffee from a local roaster or make sure the beans are not older than 3m for the perfect result. I use the Lavazza crema and have been getting good results but prefer beans from local roaster since they are the freshest.
Don’t doubt it and get yourself a Ninja Luxe you won’t regret it!” – Mommey
